Task 1: Logo Tracing
The title is self-explanatory. I take random logos from Google and make a copy out of it. My first attempt was tracing a Skype logo.
Process 1 : Make 3 circles
If you notice, Skype's logo consist of 3 circles. First, use the ruler tool to find the angle of where your circle will be pulled from. Use the ellipse tool to make the circles. Use 2 layers and don't forget to "lock" the original logo.
Process 2 : Pathfinder
After completing 3 circles, use pathfinder from the windows tab. The purpose of pathfinder is to merge all 3 circles into 1.
Process 3 : Pen tool
After merging, drag the circle to an empty space. Use the eyedropper tool to color your dragged logo. Then, use the pen tool to trace the "S" from the original logo. Like the circle, drag the "S" into same space
Final Process : Label
Use the text tool to label the original and traced logo.
Final outcome:
My second logo is the Nike swoosh
Process 1 : Pen tool
Use the pen tool to trace the original logo and drag the outlines once you're done.
Process 2 ; Label
Label which is the original and the traced.
Final Outcome:
And for my last logo is from Overwatch
Process 1 : Tracing
Trace the bottom section of the logo.
Process 2 : Tracing
Trace the upper section of the logo
Final Outcome :
Task Completed
Task 2: Low Poly
Low poly is an image filled with coloured triangles. In this task, I needed to do a human low poly and and animal low poly.
Animal Low Poly
Process 1 : Triangles
Use the pen tool to create triangles on the animal's face. Do the triangle based on the animal's colour and shape. To colour the triangles, just click on any triangle and use the Eyedropper tool.
Final Outcome :
Animal Low Poly Completed
Human Low Poly
Process 1 : Triangles
Process 2 : Colour
Finish up the triangles and start colouring each and every one of them with the Eyedropper tool.
Final Outcome:
Task Completed
Task 3: Photo Collage
Basically take any images from google and put them together. For this task, I put Neymar Jr and flames together. The flames represents his undying passion for football as he becomes better and better as the days passes by.
Process 1 : Set the fire
Light the flames up :3
Process 2 : Add Neymar
Yes, He is celebrating.
Process 3 : Curves
Play around with the curves so that you find the perfect tone for your flames.
Process 4 :
Use the blending option to blend the flames and neymar together. I used the "Luminosity" option
Final Outcome:
Task Completed
Task 4: Animal Portrait
Have you seen images consisting of animal heads on human bodies? Yes, that is what this task is all about.
Process 1 : Cropping the head
Use the Polygonal Lasso tool to crop the head of the animal.
Process 2 : Set the human
Use a human that matches the type of animal that you have chose.
Process 3 : Adding the Scarf
I added a scarf for fun.
Process 4 : Touch up
Try to fix any parts that looks weird to you. Rotate the scarf to position it better if needed.
Final Outcome:
Task Completed
Final Project: Vector Art
So my final project for my first semester is doing a vector art. I chose an anime character from the Monogatari series, Shinobu and a brick wall as a background.
Process 1 ; Setting the background
I don't have to explain this do I?
Process 2 : Setting the character that you want to vector
It will open on another tab but you can drag the picture into the same canvas.
Process 3 : Use the pen tool to start tracing the outlines and stuff
Start tracing literally everything. Remember to trace according the colours of the character or else you might screw up later on.
Process 4 : Overlapped colours
This part is a bit tricky. So what you have to do is open a new layer, and start tracing the overlapped colours. What is overlapped colours? I'm glad you asked, basically it's when there's another colour on top of a colour that you've just traced. You won't be able to see that colour because it is being blocked by the first colour you've traced. Hence why you got to traced the overlapped colour in a new layer so that it won't be blocked. Notice how my character's pupil is made in a different layer. If I had not use a new layer, her pupil would be blocked by her iris.
Process 5 : The background
Start tracing the background.
Process 6 : Play with the colours
I had quite some fun at this step. You can improvise your vector by adding different colours. It makes it much more unique. So I ended up with a few different coloured vector.
Final Outcomes:
Normal Shinobu
One red-eyed Shinobu
Bloodshot eyes Shinobu
